1.6T 2xFR4 OSFP PAM4 Optical Transceiver Module (SMF, 1310nm, 2km, Dual Duplex LC/UPC, IHS/Closed Finned Top)
The 1.6T twin-port OSFP transceiver delivers 1.6Tb/s aggregate throughput over OS2 single-mode fiber (SMF), reaching up to 2km. It integrates eight optical lanes of 200Gb/s PAM4, organized as two independent 800Gb/s FR4 ports. Each port carries four CWDM wavelengths in the 1310nm band (1271/1291/1311/1331nm), multiplexed internally onto a single duplex LC/UPC fiber pair, enabling a native 1.6T-to-2×800G FR4 breakout with no external breakout cable. The host side uses an 8×200Gb/s PAM4 (1.6TAUI-8 C2M) electrical interface.
The module is designed to the IEEE P802.3dj draft and the OSFP MSA, and is managed over CMIS, with built-in digital diagnostics monitoring (DDM/DOM) for real-time access to temperature, supply voltage, bias current and optical Tx/Rx power. By using WDM over duplex fiber, it requires only four fibers per module and works directly with existing duplex LC structured cabling, avoiding the fiber count and polarity management of parallel MPO links. The IHS (Integrated Heat Spreader) closed finned-top housing is intended for air-cooled Ethernet and InfiniBand switches. With low latency, low power and high reliability, it is well suited to spine, super-spine and cross-row or inter-building switch-to-switch links — an ideal fit for AI/ML fabrics, HPC and cloud data centers.
